Character Info;

Source work, author and character: The show Supernatural by Eric Kripke, character Castiel
Journal name: ihatecellphones
Name: Castiel
Age: A bit difficult since Castiel is an angel in the show. But, since he's human in Musings, lets say hes around Thirty-two?
Played By: Misha Collins http://misha-collins.net/gallery/albums/photoshoots/photoshoot.jpg
How long have they been in the human world?: Castiel has been in the human world for about a year now, so he has a decent handle on everything.
Source of income: He has a comfortable job selling life insurance.

Personality: Castiel is clueless at the best of times. His curiosity and unawareness is sometimes mistaken for stupidity, when he is in fact very intelligent when he knows what's going on. He is naive, and takes things literally; perhaps too literally. For example, if he was sitting in a bar and overheard a man state 'would you check out the rack on THAT gal!' He would probably be a bit confused as to why a woman was walking around with a rack of something on her head. He is completely oblivious to how oblivious he is, but then again, ignorance is bliss. Although he's a bit sheltered, Castiel knows what it takes to be a good friend. He's loyal, and although his definition of 'the right thing' can vary from time to time, in the end he always comes through for a friend.

He believes in the idea of innocent until proven guilty, and he trusts almost anyone. However, he's a 'greater good' sort of fellow. If you are a good person, but doing, what Castiel would consider as, bad things, then you're bad, and you should be removed from the situation for the greater good. If he was watching a bank robbery on the news and saw that a masked man was holding a woman as a shield for protection, he would understand the seriousness of the situation, but he would probably argue that shooting her would be the best bet. Therefore, you could shoot him, and stop him from hurting any more people.

Castiel loves to learn. He reads often, mostly classics such as Sherlock Holmes and Pride and Prejudice (unless Mr. Darcy or Watson was walking around because then they wouldn't exist, but you get the picture) but, sadly, his taste in ancient literature does nothing for his out-of-tune nature with the real world. He doesn't seem to mind though. After a long day of strange stares and light teasing at the office, Castiel can go home and disappear into a good book. He is shy in public, and his socializing is narrowed down to sitting at the bar once in a while with some guys from the office and politely looking on while they have a conversation with each other. Even now, though, he's rarely invited out anymore with the guys. Despite his mellow nature, Castiel has quite the tolerance for alcohol.

All in all, Castiel is a loner, and he likes it that way. He's not very good at socializing and it makes him uncomfortable when people stare at him awkwardly for not understanding what's going on half of the time. It makes it hard for him to make friends, and the concept of having a girlfriend or boyfriend is completely beyond him. he didn't leave much back in Musings and he doesn't have much here, but he's happy. When he's home with nothing to do his favorite shows consist of Life on the discovery channel, anything on the History Channel (as long as its a documentary, of course) and golf. He doesn't understand a word of it, but the green fields seem quite peaceful.

History: When Castiel was a young boy his mother was killed in a robbery gone wrong. His father raised him, and his several siblings (he was a middle child of eight) alone, which, as you could guess, would leave him working often. Castiel was often left home alone to take care of himself, and at the age of eight he was already getting up early, eating breakfast, and sending himself off to school. Despite the lack of presence in their lives, Castiel loved his father dearly, and took every word that he said to heart. At the age of nine, Cas was pulled out of the public school system due to bullying and was homeschooled by a nun who had heard of the family's dismay and offered to help. Although Sister Luisa was a very kind woman, she had done nothing to help Castiel prepare for the real world, and is a large portion of why he is so prude to everything around him.

Castiel was four years younger than the next brother up from him, and four years older than the one younger, therefore he had the largest gap between all of the siblings. Because of this he never attached to them very well, and his older brothers, Michael, Raphael and Lucas bullied him often. He spent most of his time with Sister Luisa, and perhaps that is where his strong sense of right and wrong had stemmed from. His father had seemed to notice Castiel's distance with the rest of the world, and he had put him in a summer camp when he was thirteen years old in the effort to get him to spend time with other kids. The plan had backfired... Castiel spent one miserable week being bullied and made fun off for things he didn't understand before his father finally pulled him out and let him stay home and read for the summer.

Despite his difficulties in public, Castiel did very well with his studies, and he had gotten into a good university. At the age of eighteen he had enrolled in his first classes, and university life was good to him. All he had to do was show up to class, pay attention, and take notes. Social interaction was completely voluntary, and Castiel had no intention on trying to interact with anyone. However, it is where he had first found himself attracted to a woman. And a man, for that matter. They had both sat next to each other in his english class, And Castiel found himself pleased to watch how she played with her hair, or how he fixed his glasses every time they slipped down his nose, but that was enough for him. He had considered approaching them once or twice, but really, what would he say? He had no idea how to even approach a situation such as that, so he had contented himself by sitting afar.

After graduating, Castiel had gotten himself a job in selling life insurance. It seemed boring and bland at first but really, it was perfect for him. All he had to talk about were the facts that he was taught, and soon he was learning how to make people smile and, on the rare occasion, laugh. His job gave him more public interaction than he had in his entire life, and he soon fell in love with it. It seemed that everyone expected him to be socially awkward, but as long as he knew what he was talking about, it was fine. Still, his brothers, whom he had never fixed his relationship with, still caused him problems. They called to ask for money, information, and soon they were involved in things that Castiel wasn't interested in. When he turned thirty one, Sister Luisa, to whom he was still very attached to, had died in a violent car accident.

Castiel went into grieving and, deciding that he couldn't handle the constant abuse from his brothers or the loss of his childhood friend, he had crossed the portal voluntarily to start a new life. He had gotten a new apartment, new appliances, and the only thing that he held onto was his profession. He found an insurance company hiring and immediately applied. However, when he crossed over, Castiel found that he was able to do things that he was never able to do back home. With concentration, he could heal himself, and anyone, or anything, around him. He had found out when he saw a cat get hit by a car on his walk home from work (Castiel never really got around to buying a vehicle). He had picked it up and taken it home, but it seemed to be on the edge of its life. The cats breathing was shallow, and Castiel was sure it had a few broken ribs, but leaving it to die alone on the street didn't sit right with him.

He brought the cat inside his home, and he placed it gently on an extra couch cushion on the floor. After getting it a small saucer of milk and whatever he could find in the house (a can of tuna seemed to do the trick) he had the small animal set up comfortably and he sat with it all night. Around three in the morning, when he was fighting sleep, he had placed his hand on the cats wounded chest to study the damage and, before he really knew what was happening, his fingertips began to glow white, and the blood and abrasions slowly seemed to fade away. Needless to say, Castiel was thoroughly shaken by this, but he had placed his hand on the cats head and soon, his new pet was completely healed. That happened about a year ago, and Castiel and his new friend Jimmy are living happily in his apartment, both very much alive.

Ability: Castiel can heal. He has found that, after healing a cat that was victimized by a car, he can heal himself and those around him with one simple touch.

Ability Limits: Apparently, Castiel's healing powers also drain his energy. If the injury is a large and complex one, or if he has done a lot of healing in a short amount of time, he could drain himself to the point of passing out into unconsciousness.

Alliance: Vigilante. Castiel has his own definition of right and wrong and, if put into the situation, he would do what he personally thought should be done. The characters in the situation, whether they be creations or not, would be unimportant to him. However, if innocent lives were at stake, he would consider disposing of them if it was for the 'greater good' as mentioned above.

Open Storyline 1: The explanation giver! Perhaps a close friend who, having dealt with Castiel for a long amount of time (whether they be from Musings or not) they could sit down and explain to him everything that is going on. Someone who has the patience to explain the difference between a prostitute and a gold digger with a straight face.

Open Storyline 2: The CORRUPTER! Someone who will take Castiel to a strip bar, introduce him to porn, try to get him to smoke weed, anything that will make his head explode.

Open Storyline 3: The insulter. I think it would be fun to have a character who tried to pick a fight with Castiel, seeing as he's completely oblivious to when he's being insulted in the first place. Either that or the obvious love interest, perhaps someone who would be interested in him and he would have no idea how to pick up a sign.

Castiel was smiling and he even gave a little laugh, although he didn't fully understand what he was laughing about. It was funny, however, because everyone else was laughing.

It was becoming a normal thing, to go out with the guys from the office and have a round of drinks on Friday night. It made Castiel a bit uneasy, as public get togethers certainly weren't his thing, but all in all, it was fun. The men he worked with knew he was a little off but they had learned to embrace it, and Castiel had felt as if he belonged here more than anywhere else.

"So I woke up? And my wallet was gone, along with the girl. Best part? she thought it would be funny to leave my pants in the bathtub. WITH my phone in the pocket!"

The men started to laugh again as Greg continued with his story and Castiel looked at him curiously, frowning a bit. "I don't understand, why is your despair amusing?? I would be very upset if I had awoken with my pants and phone in a tub of water..." His coworkers laughed again at his confusion, and Greg had clapped him on the shoulder with a broad grin.

"I was upset at the time, Cas! But once you get through it, it becomes a good story to tell. It's called making lemonade out of lemons." The man explained this to him and Castiel gave a curious little cock of his head before he smiled very lightly. "Ah, I see. Because lemons taste unpleasant. But lemonade is a refreshing drink made from lemons. With sugar and water, of course. Very clever, Greg." He seemed pleased with himself when he caught on and he sipped his drink, not noticing the barmaid passing him a napkin with her phone number folded into it. When he set his beer down he stared at it curiously, and, unfolding the napkin, a look of despair crossed his face. "Oh dear, not aga- give me a moment." He growled the last part in annoyance and he suddenly stood before walking over to the woman, and putting the napkin down on the counter with a rough hand.

"Excuse me, miss? Yes, I would like to speak to you." The pleased look she had given him didn't register as he continued in a strong tone. "Now I do not wish to embarrass you, but this is the FOURTH week you've carelessly left your phone number on my napkin. I don't want to be rude, but you need to be a little more careful, you do not know WHOSE hands this can get into! If you do it again I might have a right mind to call you, just to teach you a lesson." He gave her a stern stare until the poor woman hesitantly took back her number, and Castiel returned to his table, sitting down and shaking his head in disappointment.

"Some people are so clueless..."
